The original invention of
refrigerator/freezer.
In 1927, the first ever refrigerator was produced by a general electric which was called the "monitor top" refrigerator, but Dr. John Gorrie's invented the first ever refrigerator that was not electric control in 1841, which was called a mechanical ice machine. Before the electric refrigerator were invented people used ice houses to provide cool storage for most of the year they used to place them near Fresh lakes or packed with snow and ice during the winter. The ice boxes was invited by Thomas after the mechanical ice machine maker to operate the same as ice houses.

The first ever refrigerator was invented by Dr. John Gorrie which was called the
'mechanical ice machine' 1841 in Apalachicola , but Christian Steenstrup was the first person who invented the first general electric refrigerator in 1927 called the 'monitor top' this was invented in France it was sold for 1,000.

As we can from the images above that there were a lot of changes made to the refrigerator/freezer to make it even better . for example some of the improvements that were made from the original refrigerator were that they keep your food fresh for a longer period, there is a control to change the temperature of the refrigerator/freezer ,there is also more space to put your food and drink , and lastly you can also make ice cubes. Nowadays there are Samsung refrigerators which you can control by using the tablet and there's like a section where you can make ice and it also has cold water. The first ever refrigerator was just to keep the food cold.
other relevant information about this artifact is that it was a great invention in history because it kept food fresh and therefore so much food wasn't wasted if it wasn't placed in the refrigerator to keep it fresh. In 1920 there were 200 different refrigerators models on the market. By 1863 , 99 percent of American household owed a refrigerator. The refrigerator door became mechanical because kids used to open them and get trapped inside and suffocate .
